REV Copack's Expansion to Boost Jobs and Economy in Pennsylvania

With a $3 million expansion plan in Pittston, REV Copack aims to create 132 new jobs, supported by a strategic investment from Pennsylvania.

Harrisburg, PA – In a significant move to bolster Pennsylvania's manufacturing sector, Governor Josh Shapiro announced a $1.5 million state investment to aid the expansion of REV Copack, a beverage packaging firm located in Luzerne County. This expansion is set to increase the company's production capabilities and generate at least 132 full-time positions, alongside retaining 18 current roles.

"Pennsylvania is the best place in the country for businesses to grow and thrive — and seeing companies like REV Copack deepen their roots here in the Commonwealth sends a clear message to other businesses looking to expand or relocate here that Pennsylvania is open for business," stated Governor Shapiro. "My Administration is committed to making strategic investments, building a skilled workforce, and positioning Pennsylvania as a leader in manufacturing. Together, we’re growing an economy that works for everyone — creating more jobs, strengthening our communities, and ensuring a brighter future for all Pennsylvanians."

REV Copack, which has been operational in Pittston since 2022, is relocating from its Jenkins Township location to a larger facility. This move will enable the company to expand its production lines from two to four, significantly enhancing its beverage packaging operations.

The state’s Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) has provided a $1.5 million Pennsylvania Industrial Development Authority (PIDA) loan and a $55,000 WEDnetPA grant to facilitate worker training, underscoring the state’s commitment to developing its manufacturing workforce.

DCED Secretary Rick Siger emphasized, "Manufacturing is one of the important industries we’re focusing on in Pennsylvania’s Economic Development Strategy. By making strategic investments in growing manufacturers like REV Copack, the Shapiro Administration is helping to strengthen the industry and spur our economy. From our prime northeast location to our exceptional, skilled workforce, Pennsylvania is the perfect fit for manufacturing companies."

Andy Josuweit, CEO of REV Copack, expressed gratitude for the state’s support, stating, "We are proud to call Pennsylvania home and are grateful for the support of Governor Shapiro and his administration as we continue to grow. This expansion has helped us to double our manufacturing capacity and create new employment opportunities in Luzerne County. We are committed to delivering innovative packaging solutions to our customers, while investing in the community and local economy. This project is a testament to the power of public-private partnerships in driving growth and building a stronger future for Pennsylvania."

The NEPA Alliance, a crucial supporter of the project, sees the expansion as a positive economic catalyst for the region. "The NEPA Alliance was delighted to support REV Copack’s expansion project, which will bring more jobs to Luzerne County and also create increased production capabilities at their new facility," said Jeffrey Box, President and CEO, NEPA Alliance. "This project is sure to have a great, lasting impact on the region’s economy."

Coordinated by the BusinessPA team under Governor Shapiro, this project exemplifies the administration’s focus on facilitating business growth in Pennsylvania. The team provides vital resources and guidance to businesses across the state and beyond, fostering environments conducive to long-term success.
