In a powerful move toward improved workplace conditions, slot attendants at Hard Rock Casino Rockford have overwhelmingly decided to unionize, with 98 percent opting to join Teamsters Local 325. This decision marks a significant step for the employees amidst an environment that faced strong opposition.

Erick Calvert, Secretary-Treasurer of Local 325, praised the workers for their determination. “I congratulate these workers for showing resilience and voting to join our Teamsters family,” Calvert stated. He emphasized that the vote sends a strong message to Hard Rock management about the employees' commitment to achieving dignity and respect through a fair contract.

This victory is part of a broader movement, as these slot attendants join a network of over 5,000 Teamsters within the casino and gaming sector across the nation. They also align with existing Local 325 members, including valet and warehouse employees at the same casino.

Siara Raymer, one of the slot attendants and a new union member, expressed the collective sentiment, saying, “We are proud to call ourselves Teamsters and look forward to negotiating alongside our brothers and sisters in valet and the warehouse.” Raymer highlighted the workers' frustration with the existing conditions, which motivated their choice to unionize and strive for what they believe they deserve.
