Teamsters Local 665 Welcomes New Members from San Francisco Airport
(SAN FRANCISCO) – Agents and drivers at Bags, a Metropolis subsidiary at SFO, have joined Teamsters Local 665. They work alongside Local 665 members who highlighted the benefits of Teamsters representation, according to Tony Delorio, Secretary-Treasurer of Local 665. "Teamsters membership is recognized for improving workplace conditions across various sectors," Delorio stated.
The 40 new Remote Airline Check-In (RAC) workers manage traveler baggage at SFO's parking, rental car facilities, and the Air Train. "With high Bay Area living costs, we needed contracts that keep up with inflation," said Nyeisha Thornton, an SFO Bags worker.
This success adds to Local 665's recent wins, backed by the Teamsters Industrial Trades Division's organizing support. "Our division strengthens successful organizing campaigns at airports and beyond," added Rocco Calo, Division Director.
Teamsters Local 665 serves 5,000 members across nine Northern California counties, advocating for worker rights in diverse industries. Visit Teamsters665.org for more details.
