Goodwin and Associates Join Teamsters Local 992
Goodwin and Associates, a cultural resource management firm, has recently announced that their archeologists are now part of Teamsters Local 992. This makes them the second group of archeologists to join the North America’s leading union in the last two months.
Tom Krause, Secretary-Treasurer of Local 992, congratulated the new members. “These experts deserve due recognition from their employer. We're excited to help secure a robust first Teamsters contract for them,” Krause said.
The 13 new Teamsters joined Local 992 to ensure a balanced workload and fair pay commensurate with their skill.
Noor Sullivan, a field archeologist at Goodwin and Associates, expressed gratitude for the Teamsters support. "We sought representation to establish equal footing in contract agreements. We believe our unionization will lead to a more sustainable labor paradigm and set new standards in archeology. Improved labor practices result in a higher quality of work, making cultural resource management archeology the beneficial service it ought to be,” said Sullivan.
Teamsters Local 992, chartered in 1939, represents a broad range of industries in Hagerstown, Maryland, and surrounding areas.
