In the heart of Cincinnati, Ohio, 311 operator Shaundale Green Jr. listens attentively to the city's residents, ensuring their concerns are addressed efficiently. His role is vital in maintaining the city's well-being, and he takes immense pride in his contributions.

"Cincinnati is where I live, it’s a beautiful city," Green expresses, emphasizing his commitment to resolving issues like potholes and water main breaks. As part of a non-emergency, 24-hour call line, Green's job is to ensure that residents' reports and questions are properly documented and directed to the right departments.

Green, who is a member of AFSCME Ohio Council 8, has been honored with the prestigious Never Quit Service Award. This award acknowledges public service workers who demonstrate exceptional dedication to their communities.

Reflecting on the challenges of his work, Green notes, “It can definitely be stressful. You have to be patient with the caller and understand and listen to what’s going on so you can get all the information.” Despite the pressures, his motivation remains strong, fueled by his family, colleagues, and close friends, alongside a steadfast desire to assist in any situation.
