Dayton, OH – CareFlight Medical Workers Vote for UAW Representation

Dayton, OH – Over 70 nurses and medics at CareFlight, a medical emergency service associated with Miami Valley Hospital, voted to join the United Auto Workers (UAW) union on Wednesday, June 12.

These healthcare professionals provide crucial care to patients in need of immediate treatment, transported either by air or ground. Their decision to join the UAW is driven by a desire for improved working conditions, fairer wages and benefits, and a stronger voice in the workplace.

“This was a momentous day,” expressed Nikki Coleman, a flight nurse at CareFlight. “We eagerly anticipate having our concerns addressed in a fair and transparent contract, while continuing to provide top-tier service to our community.”

UAW Region 2B Director David Green welcomed the CareFlight nurses into the union, praising their determination to advocate for a fair and just contract. “I express gratitude to the volunteer organizing committee for their dedication, and to Bill Lucas and Eric Gadd for their unwavering support to the CareFlight nurses. United we succeed! Welcome to the UAW!” stated Green.
